What is Eskimo 3 Liquid?
Eskimo-3 is a high strength omega 3 fatty acid, combining high levels of EPA (740mg) and DHA (460mg) per 5ml serving.
Fish oil is one of the most studied supplements available. It has strong evidence in its ability to help with the following:
- Improve cardiovascular health
- Reduce blood pressure
- Reduce triglycerides
- Improve cholesterol ratios
- Reduce liver fat
- Reduce homocysteine
- Reduce inflammation
- Modulate the immune system and specifically reduce the symptoms of lupus
- Improve cognitive function
- Improved memory
- Reduce depression
- Reduce cognitive decline
- Improve blood flow to the brain
Eskimo-3 is the pioneer brand in omega-3 supplements and has been used by practitioners and patients for over 20 years. It was developed by Professor Tom Saldeen who has earned the prestigious nickname ‘the father of omega-3,’ thanks to his lifelong study of the benefits of omega-3. Professor Saldeen made it his mission to bring these significant health benefits to the Western diet so often lacking in omega-3, which resulted in the birth of the Eskimo range.
Environmental toxins such as PCB and mercury can accumulate in fish and unless removed will concentrate in fish oil. The purification process of Eskimo3 is carried out close to the fishing-grounds. Here pressing, centrifugation and molecular distillation all take place in accordance with GMP and pharmaceutical standards. State-of-the-art technology is used for the purification procedure meaning Eskimo products contain no residues from the manufacturing process and are hexane free.
Omega-3s are easily damaged during processing and would then do you more harm than good. Eskimo oils are enriched with Pufanox – a proprietary antioxidant blend and vitamin E to ensure long-term stability.
Eskimo-3 uses only the highest quality fish oil available from fully traceable sources. The fish for Eskimo-3 are provided by specialist fisheries in Peru and can actually be tracked back to the individual fishing vessel and even the individual taking care of the fish. This trace-ability (and accountability) has resulted in the Eskimo range being awarded a ‘Friend Of The Sea’ certificate.
Fish oil ultimately is made up of two particular types of fatty acids, commonly known as EPA and DHA, both of which are specific omega-3 fatty acids. Whilst you can get these oils in a vegan form from Algae based oils the content is much lower and to reach specific therapeutic levels would be very expensive. EPA can also be made from non- animal sources such as from plant based foods rich in another fat, known in short as ALA. These sources are flax, hemp, spirulina & chlorella, however the conversion process is very poor and in some people genetically improbable because of less enzymes to assist in that conversion process. This is a common reason for imbalanced fatty acids in those who eat little or no fish, as well as the over consumption of omega 6 rich foods.
How to use Eskimo 3 Liquid
For general health the American Heart Association recommends 1g daily of EPA and DHA combined, just under 1tsp per day of this particular product. For a high dose omega 3 capsule version we recommend the Omega 1250 by AminoMan.
Please be aware that fish oil and vitamin E are both natural anti-coagulants, thus if on blood thinning medication or if you have a blood thinning disorder you should not start fish oils without consulting a specialist first.
Fish oil is incredibly unstable when exposed to heat, thus it needs to be stored in a cool place out of direct sunlight.
